Koomerang Ski Club was founded in 1957 by a group including students, parents, teachers and Old Boys of Scotch College, Melbourne. A lodge was built at Mt Buller, followed by the construction of a lodge at Thredbo in 1965, the purchase of two apartments at Falls Creek in 1973 and the purchase of a small lodge at Mt Hotham in 1982. This small lodge has now been demolished and a larger lodge is being built.
Since then, major redevelopments and refurbishments have been made to the lodges, particularly to Mt Hotham and Thredbo. The club is currently planning and upgrade to Mt Buller and welcome support from any members with engineering, architecture or building skills. More information about the four lodges can be found in this website.
Koomerang has lodges at Mt Buller (42 beds), Falls Creek (12 beds), Mt Hotham (16 beds) and Thredbo (16 beds). Members can book accommodation for themselves and guests.
The club now has around 600 members.
